  • Do I need Counseling or Coaching?
One of the most common misconceptions about life coaching is that it is therapy in disguise – or worse yet –therapy from an unlicensed practitioner. In reality, life coaching is truly its own unique service designed to help ambitious achievers meet the outcomes that will bring them success and fulfillment in any and all areas of life. Here are some of the differences between a life coach vs. therapist and a basic guide for when each service is appropriate. LIFE COACH VS. THERAPIST What is therapy? Therapy, also called counseling or psychotherapy, is a long-term process in which a client works with a healthcare professional to diagnose and resolve problematic beliefs, behaviors, relationship issues, feelings and sometimes physical responses. The idea behind therapy is to focus on past traumas and issues to change self-destructive habits, repair and improve relationships and work through painful feelings. In this sense, therapy focuses on the past and on introspection and analysis, with the hope of resolving past issues and creating a happier, more stable future. If this sounds like you, then you are a candidate for therapy. What is coaching? In life coaching, a client works with a coach who is not a healthcare professional to clarify goals and identify obstacles and problematic behaviors and beliefs in order to create action plans and achieve desired results or future state. The main way a life coach works is that the coach takes the client’s current starting point as an acceptable neutral ground and is more action-based from that point, onward. A life coach helps enable the person receiving coaching to take control of their life and take action to steer it toward their personal and professional goals. What can a coach help with? Coaches support clients in a variety of personal and professional areas. Things like: Navigating personal and professional changes Adopting a fresh perspective and mindset Goal planning and accountability Improving communication and relationships Reconnecting with or identifying of personal values and purpose Creating balance and many more! If some of these sound like what you need, you’re in the right place for coaching! Our coach, Rock DuBois, is available and ready to hear from you. • Will my insurance help pay for sessions?
Even though we are out-of-network, insurance STILL MIGHT HELP to cover the cost of treatment. All of the insurances listed on our ads help to cover the cost of our services (except for coaching), but only if you have out-of-network coverage. To be clear, some insurance plans help a lot with therapy; and some don't help at all. How supportive insurance is varies by your type of plan: PPOs are strong and flexible plans that typically offer reimbursement for out-of-network clinical providers like our therapists. This gives you access to the expertise you need and deserve outside of their small network. Restrictive Plans: These plans include all HMOs and publicly-funded plans (such as Medicare and MassHealth). These inflexible plans will never offer an out-of-network benefit for therapy which limits your options for care.
  • Why go out-of-network for therapy?
There are many reasons folks go out-of-network (or self-pay). Here are a few: Most, but not all, of the most skilled and accomplished therapists are outside of your network. There is also far more availability beyond your network: We can usually get you help this week or next. Lastly, being out-of-network (and definitely self-pay) insulates you from the insurance companies frequent intrusions into your private issues. Being out-of-network keeps you away from all that, as well as the constraints insurance company places on the type and frequency of help you receive. In short, many find it a good investment to go beyond their networks to get the expertise, the availability, and the privacy that they need and deserve.
  • How do I know what my benefits are?
Call the number on your card and ask: "What is my out-of-network benefit for behavioral health?" Insurance coverage can vary widely, so you’ll have to check with yours directly to see if they offer out-of-network benefits, and the specifics of your plan. Again, just ask, "What is my out-of-network benefit for behavioral health?" Please note that coaching with New Inspiration is not reimbursable.
  • How does New Inspiration handle payments?
New Inspiration will not bill your insurance. Clients pay the full amount for each session up-front ($140/session for counseling / rates for coaching vary by need and duration.). Seeking reimbursements for counseling from your insurance is your responsibility. Based on your specific insurance plan, you may be reimbursed a portion of your cost for therapy. We will provide you with specialized receipts so you can submit your claims. Coaching with New Inspiration is not reimbursable.
  • Are you meeting in-person or doing tele-health?
Since the pandemic began, we have been providing therapy and coaching effectively and conveniently over tele-health. We're not currently holding in-person sessions.
